In this segment of The Writer’s Block Manuel Gonzales talks about genre classification, why he writes better when stressed, and his work with the Austin Bat Cave.

On February 12, 2014 Manuel Gonzales came to City of Asylum Pittsburgh to read from his collection of short stories, The Miniature Wife and Other Tales.

Manuel Gonzales has published fiction and nonfiction in Open City, Fence, One Story, Esquire, McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and The Believer. He lives in Austin, Texas, where he is Executive Director of Austin Bat Cave.
